  • To dynamically generate a WhatsApp message URL for initiating communication via WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp mobile app.

  • We do not use your data for analytics, advertising, or any third-party services.

  • Since the Extension does not store or transmit any user or contact data, there is no data retention involved.

  • All operations are performed on-the-fly in your browser or Zoho CRM session.

  • The Extension runs within the Zoho CRM platform, utilizing Zoho’s secure environment.

  • No data is transmitted outside your CRM instance.

  • We do not collect cookies or track user activity.

  • This Extension does not use or integrate with any third-party analytics or data-sharing services.

  • WhatsApp is a third-party platform. We generate links that redirect users to WhatsApp Web or mobile app as per your device environment.

  • Since we do not collect or store personal data, there is no data held that can be accessed, modified, or deleted by us.

The WhatsApp URL Generator is a lightweight extension designed for Zoho CRM. It helps you create WhatsApp message links directly from the Lead’s Information Page, enabling seamless communication with leads using personalized, pre-filled messages.

2. Installation Instructions

  1. Log in to your Zoho CRM account.

  2.  Navigate to Settings > Marketplace > All Extensions.

  3.  Search for “WhatsApp URL Generator”.

  4.  Click Install, select the desired users/profiles, and complete the setup.

  5.  After installation, go to any Lead’s Information Page to start using the extension.

3. How to Use the Extension

​Step 1: Open a Lead Record Navigate to the Leads module, and click on any lead to open their Information Page.
Step 2: Find the Extension Button
On the Lead's page, look for a button labeled “Chat on Whatsapp” (usually placed in the right panel or as a custom button).
Step 3: Generate the Link Click the button. A popup or modal will appear pre-filled with: Lead's mobile number (retrieved from the CRM). A default message template (you can customize it before generating the link).
Step 4: Open WhatsApp Click “Copy WhatsApp Link” to copy shortened chat url . Click “Send on WhatsApp” to launch the message in WhatsApp Web or Mobile.

3. Important Note – Country Code Required

The phone number must include the country code (e.g., +91 for India) in either the Mobile or Phone field. Without a country code, the WhatsApp link will not work.

4. How to Use

1. Go to Leads Module
Open Leads from the left sidebar of Zoho CRM.
2. Click on Any Lead
Choose a lead with a valid phone number (with country code).
3. Locate the Button
On the Lead Information Page, you’ll see a button called “Chat On Whatsapp” (on the top right corner).
4. Click and Send

The button opens a popup with phone number as well as the prefilled message Just hit “Send on Whatsapp” or “Copy Whatsapp Link” button.

1. What This Extension Does

2. How to Install

  • Log in to Zoho CRM as an Admin.

  • Go to Settings → Marketplace → All Extensions.

  • Search for "WhatsApp URL Generator".

  • Click Install, and follow the steps.

3. Give Users Access

  • You can change this anytime from: Settings → Users and Control → Roles / Profiles

  • Make sure users have access to:

Leads module
Fields like Phone and Mobile Number

4. Update or Uninstall

  • To Update: Go to Marketplace > Installed Extensions, click the extension, and select Update if available.

  • To Uninstall: Click the extension from Installed Extensions, then choose Uninstall.

Note: Uninstalling won't delete your leads or their data.

5. Data Safety

  • The extension only reads lead Phone and mobile numbers.

  • No data is stored or shared outside Zoho.

  • It simply creates a WhatsApp message link that opens in your browser or WhatsApp app.

6. Need Help?

  • If you run into any issues:

1. Make sure the user has access to the Leads module and mobile number field also the country code is entered in the Phone and Mobile field of the CRM.
2. Make sure WhatsApp links are allowed in your browser.
3. If the button doesn’t show up, check the user’s permissions.​

  • Providing a dedicated button on the Lead Information Page to generate a WhatsApp message link.

  • Allowing users to send a WhatsApp message directly by clicking a "Send Message on WhatsApp" button.

  • Enabling users to copy the chat URL and share it via other platforms (email, SMS, etc.).

  • Supporting message generation from either Phone or Mobile fields (only if they include a valid country code).

  • Displaying an error if the country code is missing—ensuring message delivery accuracy.

Note: Reusing or storing message templates is not supported at this time. Users must enter the desired message each time they generate a new link.
